Jennifer Goodman
Director of Ministries for Children and Families
Jen Goodman, M.Ed., is happy to serve First Parish Cambridge and loves connecting with the children and families. She grew up in the Unitarian Church and enjoys connecting with the warmhearted people at First Parish. She is an experienced educator and UU religious exploration teacher who enjoys working with children and youth, developing compelling programming and finding tangible ways to experience core values-based themes. Believing that children are philosophically curious and innately connected to their sense of spirituality, her approach is to engage children through questions, stories, art, natural rhythms, sharing, and games, with a strong sense of fun and community.
She has an Experienced Educators Master’s degree and is a certified Waldorf Collaborative Counselor, Social Inclusion Counselor, and Simplicity Parenting Coach. In addition to her work at First Parish Cambridge, she teaches Soul Styles classes on inner development and psychological stretching and strengthening, and she is a family counselor and parent coach. She loves being in nature and enjoying gardens, cooking with herbs and veggies fresh from the garden, spending time with her grown daughter, meditating and chanting, studying spiritual philosophy, hanging out with her friends, and spoiling her cats.

Recently, Kenneth prepared the chorus and ensemble for Anthony Davis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning opera X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. This recording was later nominated for a GRAMMY Award in 2023.
In addition to his leadership at First Parish, Kenneth serves as Music Director of the Boston Children’s Chorus, where he curates the organization’s artistic programming and conducts its flagship ensemble, Premier Choir. Under his direction, BCC has toured across the US and Canada, and has performed at Boston’s most celebrated venues, including Symphony Hall, TD Garden, Calderwood Hall, and most recently, the Hatch Shell for the Boston Pops’ July 4th Fireworks Spectacular.
Kenneth is also on the Artist Faculty in Choral Conducting at the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine. He is a frequent adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor for regional and state choral festivals. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Capital University and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Bard College.
