Our Mission
Awakened by worship,
nourished by tradition,
and united by love,
we strive to create
a multicultural, spirit-filled community
that works for justice,
fosters spiritual curiosity and faith formation,
shares joy, heals brokenness,
and celebrates the sacred in all.
We welcome people of all beliefs, ages, classes,
colors, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations,
and gender identities and expressions.
***********************
Join us for Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m.
Recognized by the Unitarian Universalist Association as a Welcoming Congregation, First Parish in Cambridge welcomes and affirms gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in all aspects of life and leadership.
Elevator service is available to both the Meetinghouse and Parish House from the #1 Church Street ground level entrance.
We provide assistive listening devices.
Worship is interpreted in American Sign Language on Christmas Eve and Easter.
Our Covenant
In covenant with one another
and all we hold sacred
We answer the call of love —
Welcoming all people
into the celebration of life
Searching for truth and meaning
And striving for justice and compassion —
To nourish and serve each other,
our community and our world.
Spanish Class Registration Ends February 3
Would you like to confidently greet newcomers to our congregation in Spanish? Do you yearn to follow the Spanish lyrics in worship? The Transformation Team is pleased to offer members and friends of First Parish a beginning Spanish class with a uniquely UU flair!
Our instructor, Ondina Paul, has 31 years of experience teaching Spanish. She is the founder and former director of “PanaAtitlan” Spanish School in Panajachel, Guatemala and has taught at Habla Espana, Boston Language Institute, Spanish Language Specialists, and the Covenant School. Ondina and her family are active in many First Parish programs.
The class will meet in the Baldwin Room on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Classes will be held from February 12 through April 29, with no class on February 19 (President’s Day weekend) and April 8 (Easter Sunday).
Tuition for the 10-week session is $150. There is also a materials fee for the textbook which is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. To register, send a check to Carol Rabs, Congregational Administrator, by February 3, made out to First Parish Cambridge with your name and contact information.
