First Parish in Cambridge Unitarian Universalist

What's New

First Parish is thrilled to announce that on April 20, 2008, we voted unanimously to call Rev. Frederick Emerson Small to be our Senior Minister.

Rev. Small responded, “I am honored and blessed to be called to lead this storied congregation with its centuries of history and commitment to social justice.”

Sunday Worship

Sunday worship is a multi-faceted experience. It is a time to celebrate the gifts of life, to share religious community, to affirm our moral values, to gain strength, courage and comfort, and to be challenged to create a better world. Church services are every Sunday at 10:30 am. Dress is casual. Children are welcome to attend the services, but may be happier in either the nursery or our religious education program (see information under "Religious Education") which runs from September through June. Child care is available throughout the summer.

Accessibility:
An elevator at the #1 Church Street entrance provides access to the Meeting House and Parish House.

Our regular, weekly deaf ministry has been temporarily suspended, pending mobilization of a group to provide ongoing support for it. Signing interpretation will continue to be offered for major holidays.

Our Mission

The mission of our congregation is: "To create a welcoming, sacred space where people of each generation can worship, learn, grow, find support, and celebrate life together. To serve the local community and the world beyond as a source of open-minded dialogue and a force for social justice." The ongoing challenge will be to hold this mission in mind and to consider ways of keeping it at the center of all the work we do to create Beloved Community.
