Join the choir and feed our collective soul!

The choir will be singing at the September 10 Homecoming service (9:00 am rehearsal, 10:30 am worship). Please bring your voice and a joyful spirit. This year, we’ll be singing Yiddish music with a Klezmer band, arrangements of your favorite pop songs, songs from New England’s Sacred Harp tradition, medieval chant, Duke Ellington’s “Sacred Symphony”, heartfelt hymns, baroque gems, peaceful meditations, and some experimental contemporary music. Whether you like to sing in the shower or are an operatic virtuoso, you’re warmly invited to join us. Whether you need to learn music entirely by ear or can read music like gangbusters, there’s a good place for you because rehearsal recordings are made available in advance for all music. And whether you’re someone who can be there every time we sing (2-3 times a month) or can only join for specific occasions, there’s something for everyone with this friendly, judgement-free group.  Being in the choir is not only good for your soul but a beautiful way to contribute to the spirit of worship and the First Parish community.

Contact Interim Choir Director Vivian Montgomery at vivian.musicdirector@gmail.com to say you’re joining or to make inquiries. And keep your eyes open here and on the website for weekly updates on musical happenings!
