The Power of Prayer

From the first time human beings looked up to the heavens and wondered about creation to the first sound hummed in cosmic awe to the first time we danced around a fire, painted images of power beings on cave walls, or sacrificed animals…something in us sensed that nature, the source of all life was conscious, and it was listening.  When have we not prayed?

Because in keeping with the paradoxical nature of the Divine, this vast, sacred, living, breathing, holy cosmos is also very intimate… And the bridge between this impersonal cosmic system and each one of us is prayer.  It is the means through which we make ourselves known and heard in the vastness of space. And it’s how we receive guidance in return.

I see my way of prayer as a form of mystical dialogue, an inner conversation in which I share exactly what I am thinking about, what I am struggling with. And soon—always—an answer shows up.

No one comes to a truly profound understanding of the power of prayer except through direct experience.

Choose an intimate way of addressing the Divine in your prayers, one that works for you, and pray.

A simple prayer, the most powerful of all is:

Take charge. I cannot see my way.
